This experiment will show that there is oxygen in the air we breathe. |
|
Materials:
Shallow baking tins,
Small candles,
Identical large jam or pickle jars |
|
Method:
-
Place a small amount of water in the bottom of each pan,
enough to cover the bottom of each pan.
-
Light one of the candles and place it in the water on the
bottom of one of the pans.
-
Cover the lit candle with the glass and observe what
happens to the water.

Compare the results with the water level of the unlit candle.
