Invertebrate Groups

Invertebrates are animals that do not have a backbone. Invertebrates are cold-blooded; (that is their body temperature depends on the temperature of their environment.

Some major groups of invertebrates include:

Protozoans - Very 'primitive', simple animals often with only one cell like the amoeba
Some of the Metazoa - Porifera (sponges), Coelenterates jellyfish, corals, Flatworms such as tapeworms, flukes, Roundworms (Annelids) such as earthworms, insects, arachnids, crustaceans, molluscs, echinoderms, etc. (these links are all to relevant sections of "Enchanted Learning")
