Distinguish between materials that are soluble & insoluble in water
A substance which dissolves is called soluble.
A substance which does not dissolve is called insoluble.

1 Use technical terms (soluble and insoluble) to predict what happens when a tea bag or instant coffee is placed in a cup of hot water.
2 Plan investigations to find out what might help a solid dissolve faster, e.g. stirring, size of particles, temperature of water, volume of water.
3 Investigate whether there is a limit to the amount of solid which will dissolve in water.
