Describe the differences between solids, liquids & gases | ||
|
The three states of matter are solid, liquid and gases. Water can exist as a solid (ice), as a liquid (water) and as a gas (water vapour). A gas takes up space but has no definite shape. A liquid takes up the shape of the container it is put into but its volume doesn’t change. A solid usually has a definite shape ( even if it can be easily changed e.g. squeezing a sponge) |
