Give some of the more obvious distinguishing features of the five vertebrate groups
Animals can be placed into two main groups, vertebrates & invertebrates.
Vertebrates have backbones.
How to place vertebrates into their five classes i.e. mammals, birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles.

 

1 Use very simple reference material to name common members.
2 Group task to research a chosen example of vertebrate.
3 Make a drawing of named vertebrate showing main features
4 Design and play card games to reinforce distinguishing features of each group.
