5-14 Photos
Mosses, liverworts, horsetails and ferns –
the mosses show sporing bodies and liverworts show flat growth of leaf like
structures without stems. Horsetails along with ferns were among the earliest
plants to develop a vascular system i.e. ‘plumbing’ method for getting water
through the plant over distances and roots to help water take up and provide
stability. All photos taken by Ginger Franklin of the Edinburgh Academy.
