PLENARY

This rounding up of a lesson should include children's reflective comments about their learning. This can be followed by the teacher's review of the lesson, which should clarify any areas of doubt and lay the foundation for the subsequent learning.

Plenaries also provide an opportunity to assess learning and recognise achievement.

Hazards of plenaries :-

  • not treated seriously
  • not allocated adequate time
  • teacher does the thinking, not the pupils
