from the pupil’s drawings of day and night, answer simple questions
helping to establish that daytime is warmer than night-time and that the
Sun provides heat and light. Melt ice or chocolate on a saucer in direct sunlight and compare with one left in the dark. The best time to introduce this work would be the Summer. |
| 2 | Discuss summer holidays in a warm climate. Compare with local levels of heat and light. Elicit : light and heat on a hot day comes from the Sun. Revise previous knowledge of heat and light as forms of energy. |
